National Recreation Therapy Week

Since its inception in 1984, National Therapeutic Recreation Week has been celebrated every year in the second week of July. The primary objective of this commemoration is to increase awareness about the beneficial fundamental role therapeutic recreational activities play in an individual’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

These activities, which may include adaptive athletics, expressive arts, progressive muscle relaxation, horticulture, or therapeutic outings designed for community reintegration, are prescribed by licensed professionals.

When it comes to help, we all need it. Taking care of ourselves is something we often neglect or overlook. This week, let us immerse ourselves in therapy recreation activities and start our journey towards positive healing.
